Installation
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- Salesforce Enterprise, Unlimited, or Developer Edition
- System Administrator profile or equivalent permissions
- API version 66.0 (Spring ‘26) or later
Install Steps
Section titled “Install Steps”- Install the OrgGuard managed package from AppExchange
- OrgGuard Admin is assigned to you automatically. OrgGuard’s install handler auto-assigns the OrgGuard Admin permission set to the user who installs the package (you) — you do not need to assign it to yourself manually. Confirm it under Setup → Users → [your name] → Permission Set Assignments. (If it’s missing — the auto-assignment is non-fatal and logs a warning — assign it manually: see the Post-Install Checklist.)
- Open the OrgGuard app from the App Launcher
- Complete the Setup Wizard (launches automatically on first visit)
OrgGuard also auto-configures the rest of post-install on its own — setup record, five scheduled jobs, and two default Scheduled Job Health policies. You don’t need to do any of that manually. See the Post-Install Checklist for the full list and how to verify each item.
Permission Set Assignment
Section titled “Permission Set Assignment”After installation, assign permission sets based on user roles:
| Role | Permission Set | Access Level |
|---|---|---|
| Administrators | OrgGuard Admin | Full access — manage policies, run scans, configure settings |
| Security Team | OrgGuard User | View assets/policies, manage findings (acknowledge, resolve) |
| Auditors | OrgGuard Auditor | Read-only across all tabs except Diagnostics |
To assign: Setup > Permission Sets > OrgGuard Admin > Manage Assignments > Add Assignments
See Permission Sets for full details on each role.
